An ode to life in Nakusp circa 1915:

“If in your travels, sir, you chance to view
A little town hemmed in by hills of blue,
Where snow-caps sit all summer long on high,
And gently flows below one half the sky,
Where fishes leap and white-tailed deer abound,
Where grouse and bear and mountain goats are found,
Where lady slippers lift their pretty heads
To wonder at the boughs the pine tree spreads,
And you, sir, feel content to linger there:
Nakusp it is – the fairest of the fair.”
